Hi! I’m Patrick, a french designer based in Amsterdam.

I provide websites suited for your needs, from simple pages to sophisticated webstores. I can also help you to get a clear vision of your web strategy, by helping you define which tools are the best for you, and how to use them in conjuction with your website: Social media, RSS, blogging, search engine optimization and analytics.

Past & present

I studied graphic arts in France, where I learnt the principles of composition, typography and drawing, but also more classic techniques like painting, engraving, silkscreen, sculpture. For 5 years, i have been an Art Director for a communication agency in France, then for a local weekly newspaper. Right now, i do inhouse work for a big corporation, and freelance a little bit, mostly as a hobby, as design is something I love to do and a big part of myself. I need to work all the time, and get bored if i don't have a project cooking somewhere.

As a designer, I have a strong esthetic sense, a rich culture that allows me to speak many graphical languages, and a focus on perfect executions. Simple or complex layouts with an attention to details, scrupulous organization, all this with a creative eye and a strong interest for new techniques.

I have a love for code, HTML and CSS of course, but also PHP or Javascipt. Obviously I cannot write JS from scratch, but I can work with it very efficiently, especially jQuery. I know how to find solutions fast, how to adjust any plug-in to fit any design. Every site I build uses at least a few scripts, completely ripped apart and customized to fit the design. And I can also repair whatever i broke during the deconstruction process. I am also not ashamed to admit it when I can't ^_^

In the same way, I love delving into PHP. When I discover a new CMS I need to explore, move, remove, dismantle, reuse and rework it to fit my needs. I'm not a developer, but I’m familiar with it enough to have a working understanding. This makes me the perfect guy to build customized systems based on Wordpress, Joomla, e-commerce sites, Tumblr or Posterous.

That’s the bulk of what I know. HTML/CSS are my strong suits, as is my attention to detail, and my curiosity for code. Years of experience in Prepress made me a Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign expert, and my Art Director experience gave me great skills at driving a project and motivating people.
